Sort of been doing nothing this summer except for playing video games and swimming....speaking of video games a very disappointing E3 has come and gone leaving me excited and worried.

Many new games from Xbox like Halo Wars, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie 3, Resident Evil 5 to name a few are leaving me extremely excited but putting in mind sony and nintendos announcements they don't really make up for he new games.

In case you haven't heard Shigeru Miyamoto one of the biggest names in Nintendo (responsible for Zelda, Mario, Star Fox) has announced that they (nintendo) are no longer targeting the hardcore gaming audience they once were and are going for a more casual group.

This couldn't be more disappointing for a FORMER big Nintendo fan and by former I mean if they don't give us at least something (new cough zelda cough)I don't know what to think of them anymore. I mean like I understand Nintendo isn't some fanboys dream churning out hits to please us, its a business but its a business that to me really feels like its selling out. And for a company that at one point was the king of video games its a little hard to handle.

At the same time whats with sony? I've never been a big Sony fan to be honest. There big name franchises either died or never really did something for me but they usually churned out some great third party games and now what? They have nothing for another year? They are behind 12 million console sales from Wii and 9 million from Xbox? Its like they don't even exist anymore and all they really have is Metal Gear Solid.

Speaking of sell outs, well not really.. E3 just isn't the same ever since it got transformed into a quiet business conference from its former glamorous gaming convention glory. E3 was just something I looked forward to hearing and looked forward to one day going to. Now that its been transformed I don't share the same feelings. Its almost like because of gamings new found popularity the thing we once wished would happen is now ruining everything.

Not to mention because of the now unimportant E3 many big names have decided to just announce their newest title whenever they feel like it, making it even more of a disappointment.

I'm sure most gamers feel the same ripped off  feeling I am feeling right now :

Also I know this may seem like a little bit of an over reaction but try to think of this as your favourite music generation dying out and being replaced with Gangster Rap T_T
